Hi Linda, It’s an inflammatory reaction caused by a gut infection / small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Symptoms flare when you provide carbs to the gut microbes. Add carbs in very slowly in order to start building a more diverse microbiome. Optimize vitamin A and D to improve gut immunity. Do intermittent fasting and circadian rhythm entrainment. Eat healthy acids (vinegar, malic acid, vitamin C) and take bile supports (egg yolks, taurine, glycine). You’ll have to build up immunity and gradually normalize your diet. Best, Paul
